Suseela Balabhadrapathruni

With great sadness and heavy hearts we convey the loss of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Smt. Suseela Balabhadrapatruni, who passed away on Thursday, March 6th.

Smt. Suseela was born on October 4th, 1937 in Kurnool, India to Smt. Sitamma and Sri Ramakrishnaiah Vedururu. Smt. Suseela grew up in Kurnool alongside her two sisters; the elder Smt. Saroja, and the younger Smt. Hemalatha. She studied Biology at Padmavathi Women's college, Sri Venkateswara University in Tirupathi, and later earned her diploma in Sociology from Open University.

Smt. Suseela married Sri Kesava Rao Balabhadrapatruni on July 1st, 1961 in Kurnool, and moved to Hyderabad shortly after their wedding. The couple raised their three children, Srinivas, Srinath, and Vani in Warangal, and later moved back to Hyderabad in 1983. They celebrated the marriages of Srinivas and daughter-in-law Padmaja, Vani and son-in-law Santhosh, and Srinath and daughter-in-law Pratima. They had five grandchildren: Virinchi, Ananya, Sai, Manogna, and Mahitha. The couple moved to America in 2005 and frequently split their time between the United States, India, Germany, and Singapore to spend more time with their children and grandchildren. The family recently celebrated the wedding of the couple's eldest grandson to granddaughter-in-law Srivarshini in 2022.

Smt. Suseela was a well-traveled woman, the couple toured Europe, Canada, and all the major pilgrimage places in India. They journeyed to Kashi, Mathura, and Haridwar, and visited temples across Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. She was an ardent devotee of Sathya Sai Baba and visited Prashanti Nilayam to pay her respects to Baba; she greatly enjoyed listening to and singing Sai bhajans with her lovely voice. She prayed daily to her home deity, Balatripurasundari, chanting Lalitha Sahasranamam every day. She loved listening to pravachanams by Sri Chaganti Koteswara Rao Garu, and watching Telugu movies with her family. She enjoyed feeding generations of family and friends, often cooking for the many people who visited her homes in Warangal and Hyderabad. Her favorite foods included Indian pickles, mysore pak, boondi laddu, and bobbattlu. Her dedication in all things was evident in her cleanliness, strict diet and exercise regimen, and devotion to Ammavaru and her family. A light-hearted and wonderful storyteller, she was constantly joking and laughing with her grandchildren. She made many friends in Massachusetts from her participation in Balalahari and various cultural activities including concerts for the Baba temple inauguration, Sruthi Layalu, and many more.

Smt. Suseela was a kind, loving, and generous woman who will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband, younger sister, three children, two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, five grandchildren, and granddaughter-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Lowell General Hospital or temple of your choice.
