Suzanne Maureen Klink, born on August 20, 1957 to George and Dorothy Vicary, and residing in Nashua, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2019 after a 3-year battle with cancer.
Suzanne grew up on Afton Lake in New York, and married college sweetheart, Bruce Klink. Known as "Toot" by her family and closest friends, her nickname for some reason was not adopted by friends made after she married.
To suggest that Suzanne "succumbed" to cancer would be misleading. She enjoyed her life from beginning to end, and came to view her departure as her transition to eternal life with God.
Suzanne deeply loved her family. She also had a lifelong love affair with tennis. She passed on her passion for high-level sport to her two sons and to the college and high school girls she coached. At 5 feet 2 and fiercely competitive, Suzanne's personality dwarfed her stature. She had a winsome way with people, a wry sense of humor, and the wisdom and heart of a selfless leader. Suzanne approached her contest with cancer with optimism, unyielding to self-pity, more concerned about others than herself, and always thankful for the love and support she received from family, friends, and caregivers.
Suzanne is survived by Bruce Klink, faithful husband of 39 years, sons Brian and Dan, "Puppies" Anna and Ivy; on the Klink side by Bruce's sister Laurie and husband Bill, sister Susan and husband Joseph; and on the Vicary side by brother Bret and his wife Renee, nephew Travis and his daughter Brea and mom Amanda, and niece Heather and husband Mark. Her family extends to lifelong soulmates Cindy Johnson, and Edi-Lu Wartella. The family shall forever be thankful for the love and support shown to Suzanne by her tennis family who affectionately dubbed her "Colonel," her friends from "The Hood" in Nashua, and her associates and students at Pembroke Academy where she was Athletic Director. The extent and depth of Suzanne's relationships are a poignant testimony to her endearing ways. We will miss her greatly, and are thankful for all of the ways God's little Piece of Work gave so much of herself to us.
Suzanne's life will be celebrated at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Nashua at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 19. She would smile to know that, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the following organizations which provided skilled and compassionate care to Suzanne and were a blessing to her family:
