Concord – Suzette Jill Stewart died May 4, 2025, at her home in Concord, NH. She was born on February 28, 1960 in Meriden, Connecticut, the daughter of John Stewart and Penelope (LaFleur) Stewart.
Known by family and friends as Suzette, Suzi, Sue and Hidder Hoodee (sister Suzi), Suzette lived many places, including Connecticut, Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan, Greece (where she graduated from High School) and Massachusetts, spending the majority of her adult years in Lyndeboro and Temple, NH.
She spent most of her career in Quality Control positions at Raymond Engineering, Lockheed Sanders, and TauTron. In 1997 she left the corporate world, and became a caregiver for the elderly. This allowed her to share the part of her that had so much love and caring to give, and from which she received much joy in return.
She had an incredible love of gardening, having inherited her Mom’s (very) green thumb. She was most at home surrounded by nature. She built gardens full of beautiful flowers, which helped to create sanctuaries for birds, butterflies, and all living creatures. She always did her best to make sure that the local wildlife was well-fed and well taken care of. She also loved baking, making amazing chocolate chip cookies and the best French fries ever.
She is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betsy and John Simmons of Torrington, CT, Polly and Roland Duprez of Nashua; two nephews, David Simmons and Michael Simmons; and two nieces/God-daughters, Rachel Duprez and Allison Duprez.
ARRANGEMENTS: No formal services will be held at this time.
She had planned to contribute to the FHO Community Garden Supply (Allison Street Garden Fund), and had shared her flower preferences (including Bee Balm, Black Eyed Susans, Day Lilies, Tulips and Daffodils) with the organizers of the Garden Fund.
