Terrence R. Toland, 80, of Nashua, NH, died Wednesday, May 20, 2026, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he will be deeply missed.

He was born on Feb. 25, 1946, in Philadelphia, PA, the second child of Joseph and Majorie (McCairns) Toland. He was raised in North Philadelphia and graduated from Malvern Preparatory School and Villanova University. He grew up spending summers in Ocean City, NJ, and enjoyed sharing his love of the place with his family.

After marrying, Terrence moved his growing family to Savannah, GA, before ultimately putting down roots in New England. Terrence was endlessly creative, and channeled that talent through his work and hobbies. He began his career in broadcasting, before transitioning to advertising; he found his ultimate calling as a high school teacher, inspiring the next generation of communicators. Terrence was a skilled musician, mastering any instrument he picked up, and a talented singer; he was especially proud of his time performing with the Villanova Singers. He was a talented artist and a dynamic theater performer, as well.

He is survived by his wife, Karla Tolomeo, of Nashua; children, Alysia Wyatt and her husband, Robert, of Billerica, MA, Terrence Toland Jr., of Derry, NH, Jennifer Toland, of Atlantic City, NJ, and Andrew Toland and his wife Deidre Ashe, of Manchester, NH; step-children, Georgia Snow and her husband Jordan Murphy of Wicklow, Ireland, and Andrew Snow, and his partner Tracy Morain, of Asheville, NC; seven grandchildren, Miranda Toland, Kelsey Wyatt and her husband Mark Pagkaliwangan, Danielle Toland, Emily Wyatt, Laney Wyatt, and Cormac and Brenna Toland; two great-grandchildren, Pippa and Wesley Pagkaliwangan; his siblings, Joseph Toland and his wife, Clare, Mari Connolly and her husband, Charles, and Susan Toland; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Terrence’s life will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday, July 18, at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 214 Main St, Nashua, NH. In gratitude for the compassionate care provided to Terrence, memorial donations may be made to Home Health & Hospice Care, 7 Executive Park Dr, Merrimack, NH, 03054 (hhhc.org).
