Thelma J. "Sparkie" Petell

Thelma J. Petell (mostly known as "Sparkie") of Boscawen, died February 21, 2025, after four months at the Merrimack County Nursing Home and a two-year resident of Gerrish Manor. 

Sparkie's husband of 65 years, Arthur L. Petell, Jr. (Buster), died in 2011. 

Members of her family include her two sons; Ronald A. Petell and his wife Carlene of Conway, and Guy L. Petell and his wife Sandra of Concord, four grandchildren; Dale A. Petell (Stacy) of Madison, Michael J. Petell (Lena) of North Conway, Janet P. Jewett (Jonathan) of Raymond and Lisa A. Qualter (Jamie) of Londonderry, along with ten great grandchildren, Taylor, Brody, Amelia, Dalton, Matigan, Carver, Jack, Juliana, Caden and Kendall. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Thelma, mostly known as Sparkie to family and friends, was born October 4, 1925 at home in Hampstead, NH, to Levi E. and Myrtis (French) Duston and was the ninth child of ten Duston children and the last to pass onto Heaven. Sparkie enjoyed family most of all, followed by gardening, Red Sox's baseball and Patriots football. In 1989, she retired from Concord Police Department after thirty-two years in administration. For many years she and Buster wintered at Barefoot Bay, Florida. 

There will be no calling hours and a private burial will be in Concord at Maple Grove Cemetery, in the Spring.
