Thelma Alease Sizemore, 89, of East Satin Street died on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at the Jefferson Healthcare Center.
Thelma was born on September 1, 1918 in Buckeye, WV, the daughter of Tone Henry and Lucy (Gandee) Sheets. She had lived in the Jefferson area most of her life, most recently residing with her grandson and granddaughter Richard and Jackie Sizemore.
Prior to her retirement, Thelma worked as a nurseâs aid at Charlotte Village Nursing home in Rock Creek. She enjoyed horses, canning, and gardening and, most of all, she loved to spend time with her family.
Survivors include four daughters, Maxine (Wayne) McCoy of Williamsburg, WV, Faye (Homer) Winfrey of Howard, OH, Dottie Placek of Streetsboro, OH, and Bonnie (Fred) Lightman of Randolph, MA; five sons, Gerald (Carol) Sheets of Dallas, TX, Larry (Wanda) Sizemore of Katy, TX, Lyle (Susan) Sizemore of Wewahitchkia, FL, Bruce (Karen) Sizemore of Jefferson and Blair Sizemore of Redding, CA; and one brother, John (Bessie) Sheets of Ocala, FL. Thelma was the very proud grandmother of 27 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jennings âJinkâ Sizemore; one daughter, Wanda Hanson; two brothers, Walter and Gaylon Sheets; one sister, Margaret Hanna; and her parents.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2008 from 7 - 9 P.M. at the Zaback-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula.
A service will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, May 16, 2008 at Zaback-Ducro Funeral Home. Rev. Kenneth Roberts, Pastor of the Pentecostal Church of God, will officiate. Burial will be in Lenox Center Cemetery, Lenox Twp.
