Theresa J. Cote

Theresa J. Cote, 91, of Manchester, NH, passed away on February 27, 2024, after a brief illness.

She was born in Manchester, NH, on July 30, 1932, to the late Henry and Aurore (Doucette) Smith. Theresa graduated from St. Joseph’s High School, attended Hesser College, and dedicated many years of her life to working at the Elliot Hospital, retiring in 1985.

Theresa had a zest for life and cherished her adventures. She enjoyed camping, hiking, reading, and dining at fancy restaurants. She had a special love for the beach, a fondness for long car rides to nowhere in particular, relished trips along the coastline of southern Maine, and enjoyed exploring the mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont. Among her favorite adventures was a two-week rail journey across Canada, from Montreal to British Columbia and back. Despite her aversion to flying, Theresa traveled to Germany, Austria, Italy, France, and Switzerland. She also spent five memorable years living and working in Atlanta, where she savored the mild winters and culinary delights of the city. In her 80s, Theresa embarked on an unforgettable automobile tour of Wyoming and South Dakota, culminating in a visit to Mt. Rushmore.

Theresa was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her loving daughters, Debra Endyke (Thomas) of Litchfield, NH, and Sharon Bolduc (Michael) of North Anson, ME. She was a cherished grandmother to Barry Burst (Leah Polans) of Portland, ME, Jared Burst (Zandra Neigoot) of Edgewater, NJ, Kyle Endyke (Caroline Parker) of Quincy, MA, and Laura Endyke (Matthew Bander) of Manchester, NH. Theresa was also a proud great-grandmother to Lawrence (Ren) Burst, Archer Burst, Sophie Endyke, Charles Endyke, and Olivia Endyke. Theresa held her dear friends, Connie Jaquith of Louisville, KY, and Charlotte Hasler of Zurich, Switzerland, close to her heart, finding joy in their enduring companionship. Theresa is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who loved her.

Theresa will be remembered for her compassionate spirit, zest for life, and unwavering dedication to her family. Her legacy of love and kindness will forever resonate in the hearts of all who knew her.

No services are planned at this time. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
