Theresa Donovan

Theresa “Terry” Donovan (91) passed away June 25, 2022 after a short illness. Terry was born April 12, 1931 to William and Federa West in Rutland, VT.  

Terry spent her childhood in Rutland where she graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy and then attended Bishop DeGoesbriand School of Nursing in Burlington where she graduated as a registered nurse. Her career in nursing included work in hospitals, clinics, private duty and, most notably, as the nurse at Camp Fatima and at Thornton Academy. 

It was while in nurses training that Terry met the love of her life, Daniel “Dan” Donovan. It was love at first sight, the nurse and the sailor. Terry and Dan would marry and spend the next 69 years as husband and wife. They started their lives together in Concord, NH where they welcomed three children and the family dog. They moved to Kennebunk, Maine where they raised their children and made many lifelong friends. 

Upon retirement, Terry and Dan had their dream home built on the 17th tee in Englewood, Florida. It was there where they made many new friends, played golf and started their travels which included numerous countries, trips throughout the US and many cruises. Terry’s greatest joy in life was her family and she was happiest when surrounded by them. 

Terry is survived by her husband, Dan; her three children, Peter (Kathy), Keith (MaryBess), and Cindy (Gary); her grandchildren, Walker, Schuyler and Colby, Greg, Rebecca, Allison and Jeremy, Emily and Danny; her great grandchildren, Reese, Wyatt, Annabelle, Jack, Joey, Alexandra, Danny and Juliette.  

ARRANGEMENTS: Services will be held for the family at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, Hampton.
