Ashland, NH; Thomas 'Duncan' Kameron, 52, passed away on April 4, 2009 in the comfort of his own home with his wife, Livia Crowley, by his side. He died after a courageous struggle with kidney cancer. Duncan was born in Austin, TX, in 1956, the only child of Kathryn Kameron and the late Tom Kameron. He moved to Socorro, NM in 1978 to attend New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology for mining engineering. He left college to mine barium in the Rio Grande Valley of NM. He also operated heavy equipment, built and renovated homes, and marked timber for the Six Rivers National Forest. Recently, Duncan started his own business, Strollin' Crow Tie Dyes, making tie dye clothing. In 1985, Duncan met his wife Livia, and it was 'love at first sight'. Duncan was an 'at home Dad' for their 3 children while Livia worked for the Forest Service. Duncan was usually seen wearing one of his colorful tie dyes. His smile and quick humor brought cheer to those he met. His passion for the Grateful Dead was well known. He believed in the teachings of Buddha. His survivors include his wife, Livia Crowley, their three children, Walker, Forrest and Sonora and his Mother, Kathryn of Frederickburg, Texas. He had numerous "friends like brothers" in New Mexico and additional relatives in Texas. He will also be lovingly remembered by his wife's family. The family extends their grateful thank you to all who provided support over the year. Special thanks to the employees of the White Mountain National Forest, neighbors on Mill Street, and local businesses who contributed to build the ramp outside their home. There was a private service and cremation on April 9. A memorial service is being planned. Additional information can be found on http://memorialwebsites.legacy.com/duncankameron where a memorial page for Duncan is posted. Duncan can best be remembered by being tolerant and treating all with compassion and kindness
