Thomas Morgan Noel passed away quietly on June 5, 2023, in Concord, New Hampshire.  He was a resident of New Boston, NH for many years.

Mr. Noel was born in 1932 in Louisiana, Missouri.  He graduated from David Henry Hickman High School, Columbia, Missouri, in 1950.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 1954. Tom Noel then enlisted in the US Army and served in Europe.  After his discharge, he earned a Master of Science degree in meteorology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1961. Following this, Tom worked with the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Services and then with the Air Resources Division, New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services.

Tom Noel had a lifelong love of trains, music, gardening, and travel.  His love of music focused on choral music, and he was an ardent member of the Handel Society of Dartmouth College for many years.  Most recently, he was a long-time member of the Monadnock Chorus in Peterborough.

Tom was a kind and caring man with an irrepressible sense of humor and a distinctive laugh. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Tom leaves his devoted partner of 41 years, Barbara Stewart of New Boston, and his beloved daughter, Lynn Noel and her husband Phillip Nimeskern, of Waltham, Massachusetts.  He is predeceased by his parents, Thomas L. and Dorothy (Bollinger) Noel, his brother, Richard B. Noel, and his former wife, Margery (McCullough) Noel. 

No services are planned at this time.

Donations in Tom’s memory may be made to the Monadnock Chorus, Peterborough, NH or to the New Boston Fire and Rescue Department, New Boston, NH.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Cremation Society of NH, Manchester.
