Thomas J. Sutherland

Thomas J. Sutherland, beloved husband of Alice M. Sutherland (Lawson) died peacefully with his family at his side Wednesday evening, June 4, at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH. Born in Joliette, Canada on July 27, 1926, a son of the late James and Dora (Boileau) Sutherland. He graduated from St. Patrick's College in Canada. Tom worked in the insurance business for over 50 years. Most recently he was employed with Corriveau Insurance in Nashua for more than 30 years. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, Nashua, NH. Tom will always be remembered for his fun-loving spirit, winning smile and his generosity. He had a great sense of humor. He was an avid hockey fan, having played semi professional hockey in Montreal in his youth. He was a lifelong member of the Lafayette Club in Nashua. Tom had a great affection for his family. He was pre-deceased by his brothers William, Fred, Frank and Arthur Sutherland all of Canada and his sisters, Kathleen, and Ann Elizabeth also of Canada and a son-in-law William Tessier of Nashua. Besides his wife of many years, he is survived by three daughters, Barbara Goulet and husband Richard of Newburyport, Mass. Donna Tessier of Nashua and Heidi Boghigian and husband Kevin also of Nashua. Two sisters in Canada, Dorothy Morency and husband Roland and Sister Rita Sutherland; 7 grandchildren, Allison Speidel and Jason Goulet, Zachary and Joshua Tessier, Samuel, Ethan and Anna Boghigian and one great-grandson Gabriel Speidel. Several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 20 at 2:00PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, on East Dunstable Rd, Nashua, NH. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Healthy at Home, 45 High Street, Nashua, NH 03060, c/o Linda Carter.
