Thomas A Wright, 81, passed away November 18, 2024 at his Contoocook NH home, surrounded by family.

Tom was born 12/30/42 in Concord NH to the late Verna King and Thomas A Wright Sr. He grew up in Concord, graduated from UNH, and settled in Contoocook with his late wife C. Louise Wright in 1968. He worked for the State of New Hampshire in the Department of Environmental Services for over 30 years before retiring in 2003.

Tom’s life centered around his music. His musical career started in 1963 with the Avanties, a band of close friends who played in the Sunapee area. He has played with many musicians and in many bands over the years. Most recently he was a member of blues band Kid Pinky. Tom loved all kinds of music but especially loved playing Blues. His music brought great joy to many.

Tom’s other loves included old pick up trucks including a beloved 1947 Chevrolet 5-window truck, Harley Davidson motorcycles, and spending time with family and making them laugh. Tom was a kind and generous person, serious and thoughtful as well as witty and entertaining. Tom was also a gifted artist and loved making personalized cards and writing and illustrating short stories for his children and grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his wife of 31 years Barbara Suki Wright, children Graham Wright (Kelly) and Maryn Barrett (Keith), step children Isaiah Goodwin (Kim) and Mickey Sue Goodwin, 13 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson.

A celebration of life is planned for December 14th 5-8pm at the Contoocook American Legion Post 81. Memorial donations can be make to the Granite State Blues Society or the Concord Community Music School.
