Timothy Murphy, 67, of Goffstown, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, with his loving family by his side after a long and courageous battle with esophageal cancer.

Tim was born in the University Heights section of the Bronx in New York on June 26, 1958, and was a loving son of the late Ted and Agnes Murphy. He attended Saint Nicholas of Tolentine elementary and high schools (class of 1976). He then went on to attend Iona College in New Rochelle, New York. He was an avid fan of the Yankees and Giants, and would often be seen wearing his team’s hats around town and work (no matter how much this annoyed local Boston fans). He always remained loyal to his home teams!

Tim decided to start his life anew and moved to Fremont, New Hampshire, in the mid-80s. When Tim was hired by the post office, he moved to Manchester, New Hampshire. While working there, he met the love of his life, Michelle. They have been together 15 years and married on July 18, 2020. Tim retired from the post office after 38 years of service.

Tim is survived by his wife, Michelle, and his beloved sister and brother-in-law Denise and Kevin Harrington of Fremont, New Hampshire, niece Maureen Keefe and husband, Michael, niece Kristen Harrington and husband, Andrew, nephew Sean Harrington and husband, David and their families. Tim was especially proud of his role as uncle and adored his two nieces and nephew as they were growing up, attending their various sports events. He never forgot birthdays or holidays, and always had Christmas and Easter gifts for them. He also loved his grand nieces, Nora Keefe, Abigail Decker, and Clara Harrington. Tim was also a loving and wonderful husband to his wife, Michelle. They loved and adored each other very much. He was very close with her boys Nathan Lavalliere and wife, Caylin, Alex Lavalliere and wife Shelby, as well as her parents Robert and Claire Gelinas, brother Marc Gelinas and partner Joyce and the entire family.

Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of NH, Manchester. He will be sorely missed by all his family and friends and remain in our hearts always. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, NH.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Tim’s name may be made to Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society Pediatric Cancer Foundation, causes close to his heart. Thank you.
