Ton Suk Day

Our dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Ton Suk Day, age 70, passed away peacefully at home in Sutton on July 20, 2022. She was born April 2, 1952, in Pyongchang-Kun, South Korea, the daughter of Choe Un Chip and Kim In Cha. 

She was the loving wife of Kenneth Day. They met in South Korea while Ken was serving in the US Army. They were married on September 8, 1977 in Fayetteville, NC while Ken was stationed at Fort Bragg. Their daughter, Jen, was born in NC, then soon after, their son, Michael, was born in Fairbanks, AK. 

The family lived in Tacoma, WA, where Suk owned a flower shop until they relocated to NH in 1995 and purchased Vernondale store in Sutton. With her mother, Suk spent most of her time at the store making Korean dishes and sharing her love of food with the townspeople. She socialized through cookouts and other town events held on the lawn across the street from the store. After selling the store, Suk worked in the kitchen at Kearsarge Regional High School, making great friends and continuing to share her love of cooking and food. Suk loved the outdoors and could be found walking around Kezar Lake, kayaking, and looking for Loons. Suk loved to travel, returning to Korea for visits with family, traveling to Greece, and of course taking trips to places like Las Vegas, New York or Atlantic City with her friends and beloved sisters. 

Suk loved the town of Sutton and the people in it, spending the last 25 years on Southfield Road. She will be dearly remembered for her kindness, humor, and thoughtfulness. She will be sorely missed for her laughter, singing, dancing and her amazing culinary delights. 

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Day, her daughter, Jennifer Day and her partner Kosmas Koustas of New Hampshire, her son Michael Day and his wife Shannon Foxx Day of Virginia, her grandchildren Christian Hale and Kailyn Koustas of New Hampshire, Brother Ton Seong of Los Angeles, Brother Ton Jeong of Korea, Sister Chun Ok of Korea, Sister Ton Yong Lee and husband Jim Lee of New Hampshire, Sister Ton Soon of Korea. 

Services: A Celebration of Life will be held August 20, 2022 at 1pm, at the Sutton Fire Station, 2 North Road, Sutton, with Pastor Ron Zimmer officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend, the dress is casual.
