A Heart for Family and Joy

Varneta grew up with three brothers and one sister. After losing her mother to Breast cancer at the very young age of 6 her nana stepped in to help her dad raise three small children while the oldest went on to enter the military and start their families. She then help to take care of both her father and her nana as their health declined. Varneta and her only Sister Darlene battle breast cancer together where she was able be to more than 15 years in remission and advocated for her family to do testing and regular check ups. Her passions include her two granddaughters, God, music whether singing dancing or a combination of the two, arts and crafts but ultimately her passion was spending time with family and friends. Whether it was singing at weddings, funerals, baby showers, church events, and gospel concerts for family and friends throughout the years. Varneta was known for lifting the spirits of those around her and was a blessing to all who knew her.She loved gathering each year with family, whether at Tent City in Newington, New Hampshire, or in Elmira, New York, for the Seals, Harris, and Vaughns family annual reunion weekend. You could usually find her singing, dancing, and making sure the little ones were safe and enjoying themselves. Nothing could keep her from enjoying such a special gathering. She knew the birthdays of every member of her family, including her extended family. Every year, she called to sing "Happy Birthday," whether in person or by voicemail—a cherished tradition her loved ones looked forward to year after year. No matter how she felt, she never missed a chance to celebrate someone she loved.
