Vera Akkuratova, born on September 21, 1924 in a small village of Merinovo in the Smolenskaya Oblast in Russia, passed away at Catholic Medical Center on Saturday, December 19. She was one of 14 kids of Gregoriy Chistiakov and Fevronia Pashkova. During WWII, she was first evacuated to Siberia, where she spent hard winter months, one year later, she decided to join the war effort, coming back to Moscow to become a radio operator to communicate with soldiers at the front. Vera later married, and had two daughters, Olga and Lioudmila. Over the last years of her life, Vera lived in New Hampshire with Lioudmila, her son-in-law, Fiodor, and her only grandson, Anton. She never wasted a moment and spent her time with her passions. She was a talented artist, knitter, seamstress, and lover of many other crafts. She also had a deep and abiding love for nature inspired by her parents and her childhood. Vera was well-read, intelligent, and wrote memoirs about her life. She was adored by an entire community of people and was a mother and grandmother figure to many. Vera's desire to live, love, and create can only be an example for all of us. She was warm, kind, and the light of everyone's lives. She had an incredible memory, and the stories from her youth captivated all who were listening. Despite Vera's age, she lived youthfully and always tried to remain active, adventurous, and modern.

Vera leaves behind her oldest daughter Olga Akkuratova and her partner Oleg of Moscow, Russia. Her youngest daughter Lioudmila Akkuratova and her husband Fiodor Pugachevsky of Nashua, NH. Also, her grandson Anton Pugachevsky and his wife Natalie Pugachevsky of Nashua, NH.
