Verna E. (Tucker) Robie, 79, of Piermont died June 12, 2003 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon following a period of declining health. Mrs. Robie was born on November 12, 1923 in Orange, Vermont the daughter of the late Wyness and Alyce (Morse) Tucker. She graduated from Spaulding High School in 1942 in Barre, Vermont, after which she moved to Bradord, Vt, working for Beebe's Dairy, and then the Bradford National Bank. Upon her marriage to Keith M. Robie on May 10, 1946, she took time off to raise their family while making their home in the Piermont-Orford area. She returned to work at the bank in 1967, and remained there until her retirement in 1989. Family members include; her husband of 57 years, Keith M. Robie; three sons, Dwight Robie of Bath, NH, Bryan Robie of Milton, VT and Scott Robie of Piermont; two daughters, Eileen Belyea of Piermont and Joan Robie-Dieter of Orford, NH, 10 grandchildren; one brother, Leon Tucker of Orange, VT; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Robie was predeceased by her brothers, Max Tucker, Melbourne Tucker and Neal Tucker and by two sisters, Regena Stevens and Madeleine Hilliker. Her interests included cooking, fishing, bird watching, wild flowers, her cat, and in more recent years, spoiling many "grand-dogs". She especially enjoyed time spent with family and friends at the Robie family camp on Millsfield Pond. There will be a graveside service on Friday, June 20th at 1:00 pm at the Piermont South Lawn Cemetery. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Piermont (NH) Fast Squad, the Piermont Fire Department, or the Visiting Nurse Alliance of VT and NH, Bradford, VT.
