Violet Jacqueline Arnold, age 93, died August 28, 2019 at Bedford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bedford. She was born on February 11, 1926 in Manchester, NH the daughter of Joseph P. Hamel and Hortense Hamel.
She was the wife of Thomas L. Arnold. They were married on September 29, 1945 in Manchester, NH.
In 1966, she founded and successfully operated Dixieland Florist and Gift Shop for the past 53 years. Her daughter Debbie Nelson continues the florist operation.
She was very active in contributing to Bedford and Manchester communities and had memberships in many of the local clubs and organizations including the Bedford Woman's Club, Manchester Woman's Auxiliary, Bethany Covenant Church and Manchester County Club Social Sponsor.
She was an avid horse enthusiast and instructor of horse-back riding in her youthful years.
Violet was a much loved matriarch and is survived by sons, John M. Arnold, David H. Arnold with wife Dinah Arnold and daughter Debbie M. Nelson with Roland Lanteigne; grandchildren David Arnold, Jr. and Scott Tatum, John David Nelson, Amy Singleton, Andrea Arnold, Alison Arnold, Kristin Arnold, Alicia Cain and husband Heath Cain; great grandchildren, Austin Singleton, Tia Singleton, Kaleigh Singleton, Tyler Cain, Bodi Cain, Alana Arnold, Ethan Moore, Ali-Beth Thigpen, Ayden Thigpen, Trevor Arnold-Tatum and Annabelle Whitehead. She was predeceased by her grandson, John Thomas Arnold.
A Memorial Service will be held at a date to be determined at the Mount Calvary Chapel, Manchester, NH with interment following services. Family and friends are invited to attend.
No formal services will be held at this time and notice will be provided as to the date at a later time.
