Violet Mae (Moore) Chainey, 84, of Goffstown, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026 at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home, with family by her side.

Born in Chelsea, MA on July 29, 1941, she is the daughter of the late Reta E. (Anderson) and Harold R. Moore, Sr. A lifetime resident of Manchester, Violet was a homemaker who poured her love into her family and friends.

A dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Violet’s family was paramount in her life. She cherished time spent with family, especially trips to the beach, going out to dinner, and family barbecues. In her younger years, Violet loved to dance. Violet found peace in nature whether going to a car ride to site see or resting awhile to watch and listen to birds, and spotting the occasional butterfly float passed. Violet will be best remembered for her love of family and kind spirit.

Violet is survived by her five children, Kathy Mae Talbot of Raymond, NH, Lorna Mae Bissonnette and husband Richard of Easley, SC, Ernest Joseph Chainey of Plymouth, PA, Harold Patrick Chainey of Manchester, NH, and Christen Reta Hurd and husband Scott of Morganton, NC; her sister, Barbara Thacker of Manchester, NH; fourteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, Violet was predeceased by her brother, Harold R. Moore, Jr., and sister, Rita “Betty” E. Moore.

ARRANGEMENTS: Violet’s Committal Service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, at 11AM at Pine Grove Cemetery, 765 Brown Ave., Manchester.
