Virgie Mae Briand, 90, of Bedford died suddenly on June 7, 2005 at Catholic Medical Center. Virgie was born on February 19, 1915 in Keyeville, Missouri, the daughter of the late John and Winnie (Bebeu) Huffman. She spent most of her life in Missouri where she met and married the late Rosaire Briand who died in July of 2004. The couple relocated to Nashua where they resided for eight years, then moved to the Laurel Center in Bedford. Virgie enjoyed doing arts and crafts and listening to music and singing to her family as well as participating in the sing-a-longs with her resident friends at the Laurel Center. Family members include; one son, Gale Piper of Missouri; two daughters, June Creasy of Illinois and Dolly Shachellord of Kansas; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; eight step-children: Sandra Courtemanche of Nashua, Raymond Briand and his wife, Esther of Maine, Edith Tatro of Florida, Esther Barlow of Nashua, Al Briand and his wife, Priscilla, of Nashua, Joseph Briand of Nashua, William Briand and his wife, Dolly of Nashua; and many nieces and nephews as well as step nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, a daughter, Anna Mae Long., predeceased Virgie. Services will be private.
