Virginia T. (Dowling) Slide, 79, peacefully passed away on September 25, 2020 at High Pointe House Hospice in Haverhill, MA, surrounded by her loving children, after a valiant battle with lung cancer. She was born on May 27, 1941 in Malden, MA, to the late John and Patricia (Powers) Dowling. Affectionately known as "Ginny", she will always be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, nana, sister, aunt and friend.
Virginia Slide is a graduate of Malden Catholic High School. After spending many years in Malden, MA raising small children, she moved to Merrimack, NH where she has been a long-time resident. Ginny was extremely proud of her role as the Practice Administrator at the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester where she worked for over 23 years. She took her job and her responsibilities very seriously but she always found time for humor. Virginia loved to shop, laugh, read, entertain friends and spend time at the beach but, most of all, she really loved being with her family. The highlight of her year would be attending the Dowling Family Reunion at Lazy Acres where she was known to enjoy her much loved Rum and Cokes. She also very much enjoyed getting together with good friends for coffee, happy hour and dinner parties. She was a friend to all and a best friend to many.
Her family was of the utmost importance to Ginny, she truly enjoyed raising her children and taking care of her grandchildren. She was their biggest supporter, attending numerous dance recitals, sporting events, plays and school functions.
Virginia will be forever loved and remembered by her four children, Michael Slide of Hudson, Richard Slide (wife Erin) of Merrimack, Kelly Aubrey (husband Marc) of Bow, and Laurie Martin (husband Frank) of Merrimack; her ten grandchildren, Kayla, Kiara, Cameron, Jacob, Nicholas, Carter, Ava, Kaiden, Morgan, and McKenzie; her sister, Joanie Mitchell of Burlington, MA; her brother, John Dowling of Bluffton, SC; sister-in-law, Zita Slide of Nashua, NH and many other loving family members and good friends.
