Vivian Jane
Hanlon
May 20, 1942 – April 11, 2026
Vivian J. (Perreault) Hanlon of Milford, NH, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH, following a period of declining health, with her family by her side.
She was born at Goodall Hospital in Sanford, Maine to Raoul and Anna May (Marston) Perreault on May 20, 1942. She attended Holy Family Elementary School and graduated from St. Ignatius High School, Sanford, where she co-captained the varsity basketball team.
Vivian’s fondest memories growing up were when the family made their home on the family farm in South Waterboro, Maine, following the sale of her father’s furniture business in Sanford. Here Vivian helped to raise and care for many ponies and horses. She attended just about every county fair to show their lovely breeds, often taking first place in every category.
It was while attending business college in Manchester, NH that she met the love of her life, John. They married in 1963 and made their home in Amherst, NH where they raised their 5 children. Vivian loved her home in Amherst, tending to her flower gardens, bird watching, and welcoming visitors. She especially enjoyed when her children’s friends would come over for many summer gatherings.
Vivian, a member in good standing of the Greater Manchester Board of Realtors until her retirement, was very proud of her 50+ year career as a licensed NH Real Estate Broker where she helped countless families in the Amherst/Milford area search for and sell their homes.
Vivian was a devout Catholic, having taught CCD for several years, serving as a member and President of the Rosary Altar Society, and attending daily Mass until her health would not allow.
Vivian had two favorite past-times: playing Scrabble and Bridge. She was a master Scrabble player. Playing against her proved to be a bit taxing, because you never expected to win against her! In her later years, she was playing on-line against other Scrabble gurus from every part of the globe. In the past few years, she started playing Bridge again with a wonderful group in Milford. She so looked forward to the weekly Bridge games and meeting up for socializing with her Bridge buddies. Her family is so grateful that she was able to experience this joy right up until a few weeks before her passing.
Besides her parents, Vivian was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, John, her infant brother, Roger, her brother Raymond, and her nephew Raymond, Jr.
Vivian is survived by her 5 children: Christina (Greg) Pomeroy, Kelly (Dino) LaManna, Kerry Kincaid and fiancé Pete Cullinane, Christopher (Ron) Hanlon, Sarah (Jon) Hanlon. She was a proud Memere/Mimi to her 4 grandchildren Kelsey (Michael) Wilson, John (Jordan) Kincaid, Nicole LaManna, Allison LaManna, one great grandchild Russell Wilson, as well as one on the way, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be private.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Community Hospice House for the incredibly tender and dignified care our mother received. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Vivian’s memory to the Community Hospice House, Administrative Office, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054.
