Walter Kotz Hill Jr., aged 86, passed away on September 23, 2024, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack New Hampshire. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Walter was born on September 30, 1937, to the late Walter Sr. & Edith (Washburn) in Easton, Pennsylvania. Walter graduated from Bladensburg High School in Prince George’s Maryland in 1956. He honorably served as a Hospitalman in the United States Navy from 1956-1960. After his military service, Walter continued his education at the University of Maryland, graduating in 1967.
From 1967-1984, Walter had a highly decorated career at the United States Department of Labor in Washington D.C. After relocated to New England in 1984, he would go on to work the next twenty five years as an exterminator in the Greater Boston Massachusetts area before retiring.
After retirement he went back to school to get his LNA License, he continued to work as an LNA until 2012 in Derry, New Hampshire.
An avid plantsman, Walter loved nothing more than tending to his yard and plants (especially his Rhododendrons). A love that stemmed from childhood, when he would help his mother tend to their yard for hours after school.
He is survived by his loving wife, Alice; his children, Denise Lee, Ron Davis (wife Michelle), Julian Strauss (wife Tonya), Brenda Rowe (husband Steve), Chris Hill and Matthew Hill (wife Krista); grandchildren Ray Manyette, Renee Martinelli, Jennifer Venegas, Erik Hill, Joey Waters, Isabelle Hill, Cody Hill, “his girls“ Sophia and Hailey Hill.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walt Sr. and Edith; daughters Andrea Hill and Theresa Davis-Manyette.
SERVICES: Service will be held Monday, October 7th, 11:00am at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH. Walter will be remembered for his dedication to his family and his service to his country.
