Walter E. Vips, 73, of Raymond, NH passed away peacefully in his home on June 15, 2020, surrounded by his family.
He was born on April 26, 1947, in Boston, MA the son of the late Voldemars and Helen (Brickman) Vips.
Walter graduated from Canton High School in 1965. He served in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1971.
He worked at Velcro in Manchester, NH for 23 years and retired in December of 2019.
He enjoyed the theater, movies, music and fine dining. He spent much of his free time with friends and family. He adored his two cats, Zoey and Josie.
He was an active blood donor and hit the 5 gallon mark just before he found out he was ill. He took pride in donating to the NH food bank.
He will be remembered forever for all the acts of kindness and love he spread throughout his life â¤ï¸
His wife of 50 years, Regina A. Vips predeceased him in 2017.
He's survived by his children, Cheryl Robinson and Tom Groves of Northfield, NH; Joliene Vips and Laura Dion of Raymond, NH; grandsons, Nicholas Robinson of Manchester, NH; Matthew Robinson of Londonderry, NH; sister, Zenta Sheehan and husband Jack of Taunton, MA; brother, Arnold Vips of Norton, MA; sister-in-law, Angela Avery of Foxboro, MA; nephews, John Avery of Foxboro, Kevin Avery of Wrentham and Brian Sheehan of Ashland, NH.
SERVICES: A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020, from 11:30 AM â 1:30 PM at the Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover Street, in Manchester. Interment will follow at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH at 2:30 PM.
Please note current restrictions limiting funeral home capacity to no more than 50%. Those in attendance are respectfully requested to wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, we please ask that donations be made to the NH Food Bank or to The NH Humane Society.
