Walter Edward Waring

Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Walter Waring, 83, died peacefully at his home at Newfound Lake on July 20, 2001, surrounded by his family and friends after a brief illness. Born March 13, 1918, in Braintree, Massachusetts, son of Russell F. and Mary Elizabeth (Belmore) Waring. Mr. Waring graduated in 1942 from Wentworth Institute, Boston, Ma. He served in the South Pacific during WW II with the 77th Seabees Battalion. He retired in 1983 after 43 years of loyal service with the Eastman Geletine Corporation in Peabody, Massachusetts. Walter was a member of 55 years with the Masons. Walter was predeceased by his parents, his three brothers; Harold, Frank and George, his sister Dorothy Howard,formally of Massachusetts and his granddaughter Christine Stedman. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 ½ years, Marie Anna (Petrie) Waring of Bristol: his nine children: Walter Waring of Holiston, Massachusetts, Mrs. Louise Ravet of Alameda, California, Mrs. Jeanne Reed of Merrimack, NH, Mrs. June Arsenault of Bristol, NH, Mrs. Lauri Perry of Webster, NH, Russel Waring of Manchester, NH, Mrs. Elizabeth Stedman of Bristol, NH, Charles Waring of Lynnfield, Massachusetts and James Waring of Bristol,NH. He was proudly called Papa by his 18 grandchildren. He also had many nieces and nephews. SERVICES: A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, July 24th at 2 PM at the Alexandria United Methodist Church in Alexandria, NH. In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations to your choice of the following organizations: Alexandria United Methodist Church, North Road, Alexandria, NH; Union Lodge, # 79 A.F. & A.M., c/o J. Bianchi, 46 Green Street, Bristol NH 03222 or the American Diabetes Association, 132 Middle Street, Manchester, NH 03101. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is in charge of arrangements.
