Wayne Blais

Wayne J Blais, of Canterbury, NH, a devoted husband, father, son, brother and grandfather, left this world unexpectedly on December 29, 2024.

Wayne’s family meant everything to him and he was known for making sure his family and loved ones were always taken care of before himself. If you needed him for help, he was there, without question. He gave much of his spare time to helping others in ways that really mattered.

He was an extremely gifted craftsman with the uncanny ability to solve almost any problem. He was the quintessential tinkerer and revelled in any project that included carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or welding with masterful detail. He loved working on projects in his workshop at home.

He was born in Concord, NH on June 6, 1966. He grew up in Canterbury, NH and graduated from Bishop Brady High School in 1984. From there, he received an ROTC scholarship and studied Electrical engineering for 1 ½ years at Northeastern University in Boston, MA.

After leaving university life, he immersed himself in the carpentry field and worked with a number of construction companies. He gained an extensive amount of knowledge in the building construction industry and held many positions, starting at general carpentry and working his way to management. Wayne was employed by Jewett Construction as a construction superintendent, where he was very respected by his peers.

He had a love for motorcycles and enjoyed long rides with his wife and friends. He was a member of the Manchester Motorcycle Club for a number of years where he made many friends that shared his passion. He most certainly enjoyed his position as road captain during his time with the club.

Wayne was also an avid reader and a fabulous cook. If he wasn't in the kitchen, you could find him grilling or smoking food in his grill shed that he built during 2020. He thoroughly enjoyed cooking for family gatherings during the holidays and special occasions. There was always a seat and plenty of food at Wayne’s table for an unexpected guest.

Wayne is survived by his wife Paula (Gagnon), daughter, Ashley (Blais) LeBlanc and her husband, Chris LeBlanc of Glenville, NY, son, Tyler Blais and his wife, Shayla (Mccarron) of Derry, NH, mother, Linda (Rule) Bliss of Canterbury, NH, father, Wayne A.
