Wesley “Wes” G. Frost, of Penacook, passed away January 21, 2022, at the NH Veteran’s Home, Tilton, after a period of declining health.
Born April 2, 1932, to Walter & Martha Frost, Wes was born and raised in the ‘Penacook Bog’ and lived in Penacook most of his life. He was a graduate of Penacook High School, class of 1950. Immediately following graduation, Wes joined the US Air Force (1950-55). Upon his honorable discharge, Wes moved back to Penacook where he worked 33 years for the State of New Hampshire Highway Department; he served in the NH National Guard for over 20 years, was a member and past commander of the American Legion Post 31; Wes just received his 60 year pin as a member of the Horace Chase Masonic Lodge #72, and he was a former board member and president of the Penacook Historical Society; he was always most at home in New Hampshire.
Wes was pre-deceased by his wife of 57 years, Shirley (Rhodes) Frost as well as by his brothers, Edgar and Guy. He leaves behind his daughter, Robin Frost Scavotto & husband Michael of Pembroke; his son, Steven & wife Deborah Frost of East Andover; and his grandchildren, Justin Frost (East Andover), Heather Frost/CJ Racine and their son, Juctin of Franklin, Caitlin Scavotto (Lowell, MA), Christina Scavotto (Pembroke), Haley Scavotto (Mechanicsburg, PA) and Sean & Julia Scavotto (Wilmot), as well as his brother-in-law, Judson Rhodes as well as nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Wes’ wish, there will be no calling hours. Due to the on-going Covid concerns, private burial will take place with a brief ceremony at the Woodland Cemetery in Penacook.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wes’ memory to the Penacook Historical Society, 11 Penacook St, Penacook, NH 03303, Autism Society of America (https://autisim-society.org) or to the New Hampshire Veteran’s Home, 139 Winter St, Tilton, NH 03276. Wes’ family wishes to thank all those at the NH Veteran’s Home who cared for and kept him safe.
