Wilfred A. Parenteau

Corporal Wilfred A. Parenteau Sr., 75 of Warren, NH died May 30, 2007 at his home after a long illness. He was born in Concord, NH on May 16, 1932 the son of Rassio and Edna (Johnson) Parenteau. He was a long time resident of Warren, NH. Mr. Parenteau was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean War where he received the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, Army of Occupational Medal (Japan), United Nations Medal , National Defense Service Medal and a Medical Badge. He was Commander In Chief of the VFW in Warren, NH for three years. He was also First Vice President of the American Legion, Post 76 in Rumney, NH. As an avid outdoorsman spending many years as a logger and later in his life took up being a painter. He spent many years enjoying hunting in the White Mountains. His family includes his wife Barbara (Rollins) Parenteau of Warren ; five sons Eric Parenteau and Wilfred Parenteau Jr. both of Ashland , George Parenteau of Concord, Raymond Parenteau of Warren and Wayne Parenteau of Warren ; Five daughters Grace Forand of Tennessee , Gertrude Underwood of Massachusetts , Norma Nadeau , Denise Start and Loretta Start all of Warren ; Fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Three brothers Richard Parenteau of Florida, William Parenteau Sr. of California and George Parenteau of Illinois; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Parenteau was predeceased by one daughter Edna Boubacz. There will be a graveside service with military honors at the Village Cemetery in Warren on Sunday June 10, 2007 at 11:00 AM.
