William Bill Allen

William ''Bill'' Allen, 65, of 1081 Deering Center Road, Deering died on June 2, 2001 at Concord Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Mr. Allen was born on September 16, 1935 in Boston, MA the son of the late William and Violet (Ramsey) Allen. He was an accounts manager for Collingwood Box Company in Peterborough for the past six years. He attended Stoughton High School and went on the receive his BA in Business from Boston University in 1955. From 1957 until 1965 he was a project engineer for the Side Winder Missile Program for Infrared Industries in Waltham, MA. Along with his wife, he later owner and operated the Village Green House in Henniker. Mr. Allen was a former master mason in Rising Star Lodge in Stoughton, MA. He was a member of the Lyons Club in Hillsboro and former selectman in Deering. Bill was a parishioner of Deering Community Church and was a former member and chairman of the Board of Trustees as well as a former member and chairman of the Board of Deacons. He was an avid golfer and could be frequently seen on teh links at Angus Lea Hillsboro or Tory Pines in Francestown Family members include; his wife of 25 years, Thelma ''Teddi'' (Cobb) Allen; two sons, William D. Allen of Stoughton, MA and Mark Cobb of Brockton, MA; four daughters, Cherly McKusick of Dexter, Maine, Donna Almquist of Bridgewater, MA, Sherri Williams of Sandwich, MA and Melissa Ryan of South Easton, MA; thirteen grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and one sister, Beverly Fisher of Taunton, MA A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 10th at 3:00 PM at Deering Community Church in Deering. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Concord Regional Visiting Nurses Association, Hospice Program, P O Box 1797, Concord, NH 03302.
