William B. Berg

William B. Berg, III, age 58, of Boston, MA was called home on May 22, Born in Malden, MA Billy was the son of the late William B. Berg, Jr and Shirley (Nelson) Berg. After attending High School, Billy enlisted in the military served both the Navy and USMC. Billy was stationed in Vietnam, fighting bravely with his fellow soldiers and received several medals including the RVN Cross of Gallantry. Upon honorable discharge in 1974, Billy returned home to become a professional house painter. Billy lived the majority of his life in Ma but always dreamed of retiring to Maine where he had wonderful memories of his grandparent's farm perhaps he is there now. He will be remembered by his sister Lesley, his aunt Helene O'Brien of Pembroke, NH; along with several cousins and nieces, also his friend Allan Gillis. Graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans, c/o Allan Gillis, 17 Court Street, Boston, MA 02108.
