William "Bill" M. Blanchard Jr.

William, “Bill” or “Billy” to his friends and family, Morris Blanchard, Jr., who was born on October 15, 1965, left us on Monday, September 14, 2026, after a fierce battle with colon cancer. Billy was the only son and the youngest in the family, his parents, William Sr. and Lois Blanchard, already had five daughters and they were all eager to welcome their long and lovingly awaited little brother into their home on the South Shore.

He is survived by his wife, Samantha Rouleau Blanchard, their two sons Trey Blanchard and Trevor Glennie, his sisters, Debbie, Meri, Lynne, Janice, and predeceased by his sister Nancy, his nieces and nephews, Zachary, James, Brian, Stefanie, Kyle, Cameron, and Carley, and many friends he considered family.

Billy’s adventures in the healthcare system started around the age of 5 when he spent the next 7 years in the Children’s Hospital. He spent his whole life fighting, whether it was hospitals, illness, accidents, or disease, years in the hospital, years on crutches, years out of school, and years adapting to new and different qualities of life, Bill was always resilient, determined, and cheerful in the face of extreme adversity.

Once he was released from the hospital he went out into the world with eagerness and enthusiasm. If he was told he couldn’t do something he found a way to do it. When he was a little boy, he would drag himself in his cast across the driveway to play with his Tonka trucks, he played kickball while on his crutches and used them to run the bases, as an adult he used lifts to adapt a snowboard and a wakeboard and tackled those sports without hesitation or fear. There was nothing that Billy was afraid to do.

After leaving high school, Billy found his vocation in the restaurant industry. He was indefatigable behind the line and was a talented chef at many excellent restaurants over the years until he took over Castle Caterers and became a popular caterer at functions and events across New Hampshire.

Billy was adventurous and never afraid of a challenge, which leads us to his loving wife Samantha, who told him when she married him that she never wanted to be bored and she never was, because no one was ever bored around Bill, life with him was never dull. Samantha’s only question for him was whether he could ride a bicycle, and of course, because he was Bill and he could do anything, he said “Yes” and so did she.

He was kind, funny, generous, entertaining, and always ready to be entertained, the world is a little darker now that Bill’s light no longer shines in it.

At this time no arrangements have been decided, the family will announce a celebration of life at a later date.
