William "Bill" L Plourde

Epsom, NH - William “Bill” Leon Plourde, age 79, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024 at The Concord Hospital. He was born and raised in Nashua, NH, the oldest of twelve children. He moved to Northwood in 1980 and then to Epsom in 1994.

Bill was an independent and self-reliant person who valued hard work in himself and others. He worked in construction operating heavy equipment for over 50 years where his skills were known to be unparalleled. He had a strong work ethic, was highly respected and was known to never miss a day of work. His work ethic extended into and around his home, where he loved doing self-taught hands-on home improvement projects. He had a vast knowledge of all metals with years of experience scraping recyclable metals, and boy, did he love his copper wire and brass fittings.

Bill’s passions extended beyond his work to antiques and collectibles, frequenting flea markets, trade shows and estate auctions. He was an avid coin collector and loved when family would give him “wheat” pennies they found in pocket change. Bill also was a lover of country music, classic rock, freshwater fishing, game rifle hunting, a good boxing match every now and again and was a dedicated Red Sox and Patriots fan.

Above all else, Bill loved his family and dedicated his life to protecting and providing for them. Family values and a close-knit family were important to him. He loved and adored all of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was always up for a game of peek-a-boo or “got your nose” with the littles. He could always cheer you up and make you laugh with a corny joke. He will be missed dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Anna (Barbour) Plourde.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Donna (Bergevin) Plourde, daughters Tammy and her husband James Hynds and Michelle and her husband Kevin Barnum and his son Jesse Plourde. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.
