WILLIAM E. CARPENTER
LITTLETON, NH -- William E Carpenter â known to many as "Bill", passed away on August 7, 2018 after reaching his 88th birthday on August 6th.
Bill was born in Waterford, VT moving to Littleton shortly after. Riding the bus to school, he met his wife, Maxine and they married in November of 1949. Maxine passed away just 10 days before their 61st anniversary. Bill and Maxine owned their own trucking business for 30 years. They moved south for a period of time where Bill held various jobs in the trucking industry before returning to the North Country to live in 1996. They settled in Lisbon, on Perch Pond Road where they lived happily for several more years. They both worked at the WMNF Visitor Information Center in Bethlehem before retiring. Bill was passionate about Mack Trucks and loved talking with people about trucks.
He served in the US Army during the Korean conflict and was a member of many organizations including Eastern Star, Masons, and MAGS, to name a few. He will be missed by those that were close to him.
SERVICES -- A private graveside service will be held at the Wheeler Hill Cemetery in North Littleton at a later date.
