William Joseph Collins
William Joseph Collins, Sr, 83, of Seymour, Connecticut passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 9, 2020 after complications of Coranavirus.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, on October 23, 1936, he was the son of the late Rita Van Sickle Collins Malone and Howard J. Collins.
Predeceased by his beautiful stepdaughter Jennifer Johnson, Siblings Joseph Collins, Elaine Collins, Paul Malone.
Bill resided for many years in Vermont and New Hampshire before moving to Connecticut. He served in the US Air Force, a disabled veteran, Avid Yankees, Giants, and UConn Huskies Girls Basketball Fan, and sober for over 40 years. He dearly loved his children. His greatest joy was his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by beloved children, William Collins, Jr, Rutland VT, Joan Collins, Ansonia, CT, Jean Stott, husband David Stott of Shelton, CT, Richard Collins, wife, Erica Ohlin Collins of North Walpole, NH, Howard Lamotte of St. Albans, VT, and Stepson Jeffrey Johnson of VT.
His beloved grandchildren Kristy Checca, Anthony Checca, Richard Andalora Collins, Eddie Hoff, Dylan Collins, Rebecca Ohlin, Jessica Collins, Trisha Collins, Ashleigh Fusco, Breanna Collins, Kelsey Engelhard, Daniel Stott, and Melissa Collins.
His beloved great grandchildren, Dominick, Tatianna, Aliyah, Sabrina, Moriah, Mia, Noah, Lorenzo and Eliana.
His beloved siblings, Howard Collins of Delaware, Marcella Martin of Tennessee, Patricia Veness , brother-in-law Kenneth Veness of Connecticut, and many nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank Shady Knoll Staff in Seymour Ct. for the love and care given to our Father, loving him as their own. William will be laid to Eternal rest with Christian Burial, Taps, Flag Presentation to Son William Collins JR, and Military Honors, On November 2nd at 1pm. At the NH State Veterans Cemetery, in Boscawen, NH.
