William H. Donovan

William H. Donovan Sr., 77 of Keene, NH died on Thursday, February 22, 2001 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH after a sudden illness. Mr. Donovan was born in Winchester, NH on June 17, 1923 the son of Frederick Donovan and Lena (Packard) Donovan. He graduated in 1942 from Winchester Thayer High School. He served in the Navy and was in active duty in America, American & European African Theatre and the Asiatic Pacific. He was Seaman, First Class, USNR. He lived in Keene for 50 years. He was a mechanic and auto body repairman and formerly worked at Elm City Motors. Family members include; his wife, Shirley M. (McIsaac) Donovan; two sons, William H. Donovan Jr and Thomas J. Donovan; three daughters, Trudy M. Roy, Linda A. Lister and Debra J. Donovan; four granddaughters, five great grandsons; two great granddaughters and a sister, Barbara Desrosiers; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Arlita Fowler. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Sunday, March 4, 2001 at 1:00 PM at he American Legion Post No. 4, 797 Court Street, Keene followed by military honors at Monadnock View Cemetery. Burial will be held at a later date.
