William Hardy Edwards, 78, died of cancer at his home Oct. 9, 2005. Born in Fall River, Mass., he was the son of David and Esther (Hardy) Edwards. He married Joyce Davenport, of Amherst, Mass. on June 26, 1947. He served in the United States Air Force in World War 11, graduated from the University of Massachusetts, and then began a career in sales. As owner of William H. Edwards Associates, he became a consultant to the paper industry. He was also the holder of two patents, in the U.S., Canada and countries in Europe, for a safe and long lasting process of building paper finishing rolls. He leaves his wife of 58 years, and five children, William Jr., of Keene, David of Canterbury, N.H., Robert Casey of Portsmouth, N.H., Susan Jehl of Campton, N.H. and Jonathan of Berlin, N.H. He also leaves three daughters-in-law, Lisa, Kim and Cindy, a son-in-law, Dr John Jehl, eleven grandchildren, a nephew and several cousins. A Memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church of Littleton, at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005.
