William Roger Gower, beloved husband of Irene "Renie" Braga Gower passed away unexpectedly on March 26, 2026. He was born in Lowell, MA on November 8, 1944 to the Late George Donald and Lena (Tousignant) Gower.

Bill and Renie were happily married for 53 years. He grew up in the Graniteville section of Westford, MA and attended the Lowell Trade School where he played on their basketball team. He was an avid sportsman, having played baseball for local teams in the area, Alpine skiing and Snowmobiling. Bill was a proud Union Carpenter working locally and travelling around the country on jobs.

He built their first home in Amherst, NH and eventually moved to nearby Baboosic Lake, renovating a summer cottage into a wonderful year-round home on the waterfront. He and Renie loved the "lake life" hosting barbecues and casual weekend get-togethers for friends and family along with boating and camping too.

Upon retirement, they took an extended camping trip to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park. They wintered in Florida for the last 15 years. Bill loved traveling and was up for long rides anytime. He was always available to lend a helping hand to his family and friends.

Bill is survived by his wife Irene "Renie" Gower of Canaan, NH, their son Christopher, wife Kristen (deceased) and daughter Lucy Gower of Hartford, VT, his brother Frank and his wife Nancy Gower of Westford, MA, his sister Nancy (Gower) Loiselle and husband Ron of Chelmsford, MA, nephews Jeffrey Gower of Merrimack, NH, Jonathan Gower and his wife Kate of Groton, MA, Leo and his wife Kim of Leominster, along with many great nieces, and nephews.

He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend and for his laughter and generous ways. Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
