William J. Griffin
William J. Griffin, 94, of Center Harbor, NH, passed away on June 15, 2021. Born in Manchester on April 20, 1927, he was a son of the late William and Jeannette (Boisvert) Griffin. He shared 65 years of marriage with his late wife, Virginia (Robinson) Griffin.
William spent his younger years in Manchester. William joined the United States Navy shortly after turning 18, serving at the end of World War II. In 1968, William and his family settled in Bedford, NH where they lived for many years. He worked for Bell Telephone for 30 years, and after retirement he and Virginia moved to Center Harbor, NH and enjoyed spending winters as snowbirds at their home in St. Petersburg, Florida. In his spare time, William enjoyed working with his hands, restoring antique trunks and playing cards with friends.
William is survived by his daughters, Patricia Whitney and her husband Stacey of Bedford, NH and Karen Lawrence and her husband Philip of Bolton, MA; his son, Mark Griffin and his wife Kathleen of Lancaster, MA; his sister, Nancy Olson and her husband Robert of Manchester, NH; his grandchildren, Christopher and Meredith Whitney, Alyssa and Nicholas Lawrence and Shannon Griffin; his great-granddaughter, Charlotte Whitney; his step-grandson, Matthew Blazon; and his niece, Jennifer Helsel.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday June 21st at 12pm at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.
