William (Bill) H. Scott died peacefully at his home on December 5, 2022 after a long illness.
After a tour of duty in the Navy, Bill used his GI Bill to complete a bachelors degree in business from Drexel University.
Bill worked in private industry for about a decade before starting the business program at the Thompson School of Applied Science on the campus of the University of New Hampshire, Durham. Bill earned his Master’s Degree in Education from UNH while teaching. Bill taught at UNH for 43 years before retiring.
Having created the Samantha Skunk anti-smoking campaign, Bill donated the program to the Dover Youth to Youth where the program is in frequent use.
Bill was also an avid UNH hockey fan having held season tickets for nearly 50 years.
Bill is survived by his brothers John and Robert Scott, his son Wayne Scott and daughter Susan (Scott) Hermenau, and three grandchildren Devon, Kamerin and Scott. Bill is predeceased by his sister EdithAnne Scott Hoskins his former wife Maryellen Scott Harshbarger and his life partner Nancy Zieske.
There will be a celebration of life in January.
