William J. James, 76, died Jan. 23, 2002 at home after a brief illness, a.k.a. Bill, Jesse, Sarge, Tank, The Bolo Man, The Candy Man and Sheriff of La Cariehuela, Spain. He was born in Johnstown, PA, son of Mary (Kenney) and Frank C. James, survived by his loving wife, Shirley (Wilson) James and two sons, Douglas James of Weare, NH and William James of Valencia, CA.; his sister, Margaret Frye of Ligonier, PA and two brothers, John and Richard of Johnstown, PA and five grandchildren. He retired from the Army after 23 years of service to his Country dating back to WW2. He was a member of the American Legion and T.R.E.A. A Celebration of His Life will be held Saturday, Jan 26, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Episcopal Church, Center Road, Weare, NH, Tele: 529-1042. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Episcopal Church, Center Rd., P.O. Box 161, Weare, NH 03281. Bolos will be distrbuted.
