William H. Jenisch

William H. Jenisch

William Jenisch of Epsom NH and formerly of Barnstead NH, died Monday January 26, 2004 at Epsom Healthcare Center after a period of declining health. He was born on May 14, 1910 in Barnstead and was the son of the late Alois and Matilda Jenisch. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Marion Jenisch. He is survived by two sons, William P. Jenisch of Hancock, NH and Douglas H. Jenisch of Corinth VT, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. William was employed by the NH Artistic Web Co. for over fifty years. He served as a volunteer with the Barnstead Parade Volunteer Fire Company and was a member of the Barnstead Conservation Commission. He took a personal interest in local schools serving for over thirty years on local and regional school boards. Also, in 1980 he was appointed to the NH State Library Commission, serving for several years. He and his wife were founding members of the NH Rose Society and he was the New England Editor of the American Rose Society Magazine. He was made a Consulting Rosarian and he and his wife exhibited prize winning roses at a number of regional shows. Two serious hobbies of his were the study of history and gardening both of which he pursued for over eighty years. He and his wife were gifted cooks and enjoyed a lifetime of gatherings with friends and family. There will be a memorial service for family and friends at Riverview Cemetery in Barnstead, NH at a date to be announced in the spring.
