Born in Pittsfield, NH on April 30th 1939. Son of the late Tim Jenkerson and Muriel Taylor Martin. A life long resident of southern New Hampshire area. Bill was a GED graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH. After high school Bill served his country in the US Navy from 1957 to 1961 as an E3 Seamen in the Mediterranean. He worked as a union carpenter in the local #111 Lawrence Mass, from 1969 to 1977; as well as the Local #819 West Palm Beach, Florida carpenters union from 1979 to 1982. After returning to NH Bill became a self employed professional logger from 1982 until 2002. Notorious for his firewood and tree work throughout Southern NH. People were amazed when they saw him dance like magic with his chain saw in the woods. A New Hampshire certified Logger and avid golfer and a lover of life and nature Big Bill passed away at home after a long illness where he resided in Chester, NH for 17 years. Survived by his wife Kathleen Knisley Jenkerson and his son William Burnett Jenkerson also a loving father to his daughter Joni Jenkerson and his Grandson Josh Calden, his daughter Judi and son in law Patrick Jordan and grandchildren Patrick and Destiny Jordan of Manchester, NH. His sister Beverly Healey of Chester, NH and brothers John Jenkerson of Salem, NH, Roy Jenkerson of Fremont, NH and Richard Jenkerson of Raymond, NH and also numerous nieces and nephews, in-laws and very dear and loving friends. A memorial service will be held at the Great Hill Cemetery, Route 121A in Chester at 1:00pm. Saturday October 11th. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rockingham VNA and Hospice, 137 Epping Road, Exeter, NH 03833 and to the Wilkum Townsend Fund, PO Box 30 Chester, NH 03036 in memory of William Jenkerson.
