William H. McLaughlin

William H. "Mac" McLaughlin, 76, of Alton, passed away September 28, 2010 at Concord Hospital.

He was born in Albany, NY on September 9, 1934, the son of Walter and Julia (Oteria) McLaughlin. He was a 27 year Air Force Veteran and served in Vietnam. He retired as a master sergeant. After his military career, he worked as a corrections officer for the Stafford County House of Corrections. He was an avid antiquer and loved to travel. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the American Legion, the NH Veterans Association and the Moose Lodge in Dover.

Family members include his loving wife of 45 years, June (Gee) McLaughlin of Alton; a son, William McLaughlin of Manchester; two daughters, Teresa McLaughlin of Littleton, MA and Agnes Tarara of Litchfield; six grandchildren, Alex, Ryan, Julia, Toni, Meghan and Katelyn; three brothers, Raymond McLaughlin of Schenectady, NY, Patrick McLaughlin of Whitefield, NH and Thomas McLaughlin of Albany, NY; a sister, Patricia McLaughlin of Albany, NY and nephews and nieces.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 in St. Joseph Church, 150 Central St, Dover. Following the services there will be a gathering at Kelley's Row at 421 Central Ave in Dover. Private urn burial with military honors will take place in the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 105 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, 2600 Virginia Avenue, Suite 104, Washington DC 20037.
