William Reuben Willis

William R. Willis Sr. – Grantham, NH Age 74 of Grantham, died at his home Friday February 10th after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Middleboro, MA on October 17, 1931 the son of Milton and Alma (Pratt) Willis. He grew up on Cape Cod. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1947-1952 and was honorably discharged on May 22, 1952. He was very proud to serve his country. He married Edith A. Holmes on May 31, 1952 in North Grantham. They moved to Florida, and then back to Grantham in 1961. Bill was a quiet man. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was loved and respected by all his family and friends. He took pride and joy in his wood working. His work is cherished and admired in many homes, businesses, and public places. He was an extraordinary craftsman of finished carpentry. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Edith A. (Holmes) Willis of Grantham. 2 daughters; Jeanne Shumway and her husband Brad of Corinth, VT. Barbara LaCount of Punta Gorda, Fla. Son William R. Willis Jr. and his Fiancé Kelly Williams and family. Brother Conrad Willis of Brewster, MA & New Smyrna Beach, Fla. Sister Patricia Finely and her husband Richard of Rockledge, Fla. 7 grandchildren; Lisa, jack, Steven, Heidi, Katrina, Brett & Morgan. 6 great-grandchildren; Travis, Jasmyn, Steven, Alan, Joseph & Teaghan. He was pre-deceased by his parents and 3 brothers; Milton Carter Willis Jr., Rodney Norman Willis & Albert Frances Ward. Memorial Service details are pending at this time.
