Winfred D. Hodgdon, 82, of Weare, NH died Wednesday July 28, 2010 at the Elliot Hospital following a period of declining health. He was born on February 18, 1928 in Wolfeboro, NH the son of the late Winfred and Muriel (Kirkpatrick) Hodgdon. He was raised in Alton. He resided in Goffstown for many years. He lived in Weare for the past year. During the Korean War he served in the US Navy. He worked as a plumber throughout his career. Winfred was a member of the VFW and American Legion Post 16. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. In His Life: He is survived by his daughter, Fonda Rockhold of Weare; 5 sons, Michael Hodgdon and his wife Lynn of Huntersville, NC, Jon Hodgdon of Loudon, NH, Kelly Hodgdon and his wife Rose of Bedford, Patrick Hodgdon of Weare and Daniel Hodgdon of Concord; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Thelma (Fletcher) Hodgdon who died in 1998. His Memorial Gathering will be held at the Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover St, Manchester on Sunday from 11:00AM to 12:30PM with his service at 12:30PM in the Funeral Home Chapel.
