Winifred Watson Elsner

Winifred Watson Elsner, 72, of Court Street, died on October 19, 2001 at her home. She was born in Boston, MA, on December 17, 1928, the daughter of Robert D. and Sydney W. (Tucker) Watson. As a resident of Haverhill since 1972, she had become well known for her outstanding community volunteer services, beautiful braided rugs and hand knit garments. Winifred was a member of the Haverhill Congregation Church where she was married to her husband, Carlton on April 30, 1972. Family members include her husband; Carlton Elsner; one son, Lawrence Sullivan of Newburyport, MA; one grandson Scott of Newburyport, MA; her beloved aunt Mary Keenan of Boston; one brother Robert G. Watson of Vermont; two nephews Tucker and Schuyler of Vermont; one sister Shirley Watson-Poole; and one niece Chelsea Poole of Nova Scotia. Additional family members include her three stepdaughters; Pamela Elsner-Lowe of Leadville, CO, Gretchen Elsner of Etna Center, ME and Marlana Elsner of Sanbornton, NH. There will be no services.
