Yvette M. Demanche, 85, passed away October 14, 2023 at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH following a short illness. Born in Nashua, NH on August 16, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Sr. and Yvonne (Bourque) LaBonte. She shared 64 years of marriage with her husband Horace A. Demanche and worked for 40 years as an insurance agent for Amoskeag Insurance in Nashua, NH.
Yvette is survived by her son, Brian Demanche and his wife, Cindy Demanche of Kentucky, daughter Karen Demanche and her wife, Celeste Morse of Merrimack, NH, grandchildren Amanda Demanche and her wife Kimberly Elisabeth, Charlie Unthank and his wife, Malia, Jason Unthank and his partner Karen, and great grandchildren, Trinity, Michael, Chance, Jordan and Kirsten. In addition, Yvette was predeceased by her parents, Alfred Sr and Yvonne LaBonte, brother Normand and sister-in-law Peggy LaBonte, and brother Alfred LaBonte Jr.
Yvette enjoyed life and loved spending time with her family and friends. Mom had many things that brought her happiness and one of them was yearly vacations. We did several driving trips to Florida to visit Disney World or to Colorado to visit with one of her brother’s family. The driving trips would go through many states sometimes the top states and return home through the middle of the country or by the lower states and also return home through the middle states. Mom and Dad wanted me and my brother to see all we could of these United States. These were the best vacations and of course when driving through Worcester, MA we always had to wave to the Polar drink Polar Bear. Mom also enjoyed going to her casinos whether it was Atlantic City, Las Vegas or Foxwoods, she loved the slots.
Weekends in the summer would be spent at the camp in Barnstead, NH and Saturdays were always the day to go to Laconia and get fresh fruit at the Big Banana. We would do lots of bike rides as well, one time when we were about a mile from home and we were going up a slight incline and Mom was in front of us and seemed to start slowing down and then all of a sudden, she slowly started to fall over in slow motion like in the cartoons, then she was on the ground. She said she was ok and not hurt and just sat there for a bit. We could not help ourselves as we were laughing so hard at how slow she fell over that a complete stranger stopped and helped her up. Mom had a good sense of humor about it and it was a conversation piece for years. She also would beat us at Atari winter Olympics, who knew she would be great at the downhill race.
SERVICES: A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, 10 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church, 216 E. Dunstable Road, in Nashua, NH. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Louis de Gonzague Cemetery, 752 W. Hollis Street in Nashua.
